An outsider validating your musical tastes is bar none one of the most gratifying things you can experience at 1 a.m. while slingshotting around the I-96/I-69 interchange.

It’s finally here! After one full year of breaking down my personal best-of list, we’re finally at the end. Mostly.

I don’t sing along to songs, even when I’m alone in my car. I paid for the CD or the show to hear someone else sings, that’s the point.

Up and downs, ins and outs, we all have to be aware of each other, and the world around us.

When high expectations are met with intriguing surprises, you know you’re in for a real treat.

New shows aren’t pandemic-proof. Old shows? Let’s reminisce.

Somebody help me, I’m listening to house and techno while impatiently awaiting my impulse trip to Miami in May.

This edition is half full of shows on Lake Michigan’s good side.

Half of these shows I paid to see. Three of them had fewer than 100 people, while the others were close to selling out. Everyone has a choice, these are the ones I made.

It’s finally here, the Top 100! I’m not going to lie to you, this was hard trying to get to 200 shows so I could round out this list.

The big concert year of 2019 is nearing its end. But this list isn’t.

My second CD as a new driver was Eagles’ Hotel California, which, if you played the lead track back-to-back was the exact distance to my high school from home in moderate traffic.

No offense to those of you that do partake in the collective, pseudo-mind meld of chemical accelerants and barbiturates, these are almost always sober shows.

Just because you have a big stadium act doesn’t mean it was a great show. Sometimes it’s how you move the audience in the space you create.
